SUA

The Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra (SUA) is a top educational and scientific institution in agriculture and neighboring areas. SUA has attained the position of one of Slovakia’s leading universities in the period since it was founded in 1952. The University is consistently rated in the top group for the high quality of its teaching and research in the Slovak Republic. It cultivates close and productive links with its local and regional community and it continues to expand its work at an international level in both teaching and scientific research. The SUA has a strong tradition of working in collaboration with business and industry and playing an active role in economic regeneration.

The university provides education in the field of agriculture and related research areas such as: Agro biology, Food resources, Sustainable agriculture, Agricultural production, biotechnology, food technology, Engineering of agricultural machinery and equipment, Computerization and automation of agricultural equipment, Operation of energy facilities on agricultural production, Gardening and landscape design, Economics and Management, International trade in agricultural commodities, Marketing, Development of rural tourism, Project management for rural development, Lifelong learning, etc.

At present, the SUA offers university education in the following levels of degree programmes: Bachelor, Master, Doctoral (PhD). SUA consists of 6 Faculties: The Faculty of Agrobiology and Food Resources, The Faculty of Economics and Management, The Faculty of Agricultural Engineering, The Faculty of Horticulture and Landscape Engineering, The Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Science, The Faculty of European Studies and Regional Development. SUA cooperates with many other institutions through bilateral and multilateral agreements and it is involved in many national and international projects in the frame of following programmes: HORIZON 2020, Erasmus+, Structural Funds, Visegrad Fund, etc.

The staff of The Faculty of European Studies and Regional Development (FESRD) will be responsible for management and implementation of the project. The Faculty was established in 2004 and it is the youngest Faculty of the SUA in Nitra.The Faculty offers its students study programmes at the first, second and third levels of study in two study fields: Public Administration and Regional Development and Environmental Management. The study programmes provided focus on preparing their graduates especially for work in public administration, public entities, project units and local government authorities both in Slovakia and abroad. The aim of the pedagogical, scientific and research collective of the University and Faculty is, and will always be, to prepare high-quality graduates who will be successful in the labour market even in the strong competitive environment established in the European Union. FESRD is very active in international relations development, preparation, submission and realization of EU projects. Staff experienced in management and administration of different types of projects can be considered as a huge comparative advantage over another institutions. The Faculty has 6 Departments, 1 Center of International Programmes, 1 Legislation Advisory Center of the EU, 2 Jean Monnet Centres of Excellence and 1 Jean Monnet Chair.
